Wow! Talk about real reasons to write! Click on the picture to read a story about a fourth grader in Rhode Island who wrote a persuasive letter to the Executive Vice President of Store Operations for Lowe's. He asked for some mulch to be donated to his school and ended up with a whole new playground!
As we begin to teach persuasive writing, it is important to keep in mind that we want to give our students opportunities to write for authentic purposes. Share with them the power of the written word. Write on!
