Wordle, Anyone?

Have you heard of Wordle? http://www.wordle.net/ is a site for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. There are a ton of uses for the classroom. Here are a few to whet your appetite:
Enter your students' names for a great poster at the beginning of the year.
Type in text from a story or lesson and give it to your students for an activator before a lesson.
Use it to create poetry.
Create a wordle from specific words and have your students use them in sentences or stories.
Use it to creatively post your class rules.
Let the students use it to respond to literature.
Use it to represent your class.
Use it just for fun. (gasp!)
These are just a few ideas-- let us know what you come up with!

Thanks for sharing this site!
Students could also use Wordle to create "family trees" with the names of family members.
Keep up the good work!
