Did you know CNN has a student news website? Videos, podcasts, learning activities, and maps are ripe for the pickin', among other goodies. The video on the homepage right now is on the health care debate. Politics is not my forte, I must admit, so watching this video was very enlightening. (I can actually understand when it is being explained for kids!)
Part of Troup County's mission statement is "Preparing students for lifelong learning, responsibility and service", and we all are responsible for teaching the speaking, listening, and viewing standard, so check it out to see if you can work it into your day.
