Greg Tang Rocks

Reading Rockets has a fantastic interview with Greg Tang, author of The Grapes of Math and The Best of Times. The interview is broken into segments, for your easy viewing and learning pleasure. The segments include:

A jack of all trades
Numbskill? Who, me?
The easy way to do math
Reconciling the two approaches
Beginning with the concepts
Tips for teachers
Partnering with parents
Many ways to peel a potato

Here is a little taste of his brilliance to whet your appetite:

Really what I'm trying to do is reconcile the traditionalists with kind of the modern approach to math and really show that it's really the same thing. When somebody really understands both approaches, then they're in a position to see it's really the same thing.

Check it out if you get a chance. There is a transcript of the interview if you'd rather read it and there is also a list of his children's books. Great food for thought.
